Air Tightness

Air pressure testing (air tightness testing or air permeability testing) is a requirement of Part L of the Building Regulations for newly built Domestic and Commercial developments.

Eco-Futures specialise in all aspects of air permeability or air tightness, having established a trusted reputation with a number of individual and corporate clients throughout Newport, Cardiff, Swansea, South Wales, Bristol, Bath, the South West and Midlands.

WHAT IS AIR TIGHTNESS TESTING?

Build quality is an important part of any build. Air Leakage Testing is required as part of Building Regulations to confirm the results of SAP or SBEM Calculations in a proportion of residential and non-domestic buildings. There are strict targets within building regulations to ensure new properties reach a decent standard of air tightness.

“The test measures the amount of uncontrolled air flow (also known as air leakage) within a property as a result of unsealed gaps or cracks within the thermal envelope”
